The Aroleid Kollektiv in Zermatt is a new contemporary, shared-style dining experience that aims to bring a sense of community to the dining table.

We want to engage all your senses, and offer a broader visual, olfactory, and sensual experience. One of the best in Switzerland.

OUR CULINARY TEAM

A determined chef, an athlete, a man with a vision, Marián Podola has been working to make the Kollektiv a reality for over five years, ever since the idea first hatched in his mind. With tireless resolve, he has taken the same work ethic and passion that made him a success in the kitchen business – working with the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Jason Atherton – to the sourcing, roasting and brewing of the perfect coffee bean. From there, it was a natural step to take the idea to create an impeccable gastronomic hub for all who visit this slice of Alpine paradise. 

Computer scientist graduate and Chef, Roberto Catra and Marián met in Glasgow. Roberto came into the culinary world while studying computer science, and never looked back. Combining passion, energy and a youthful cosmopolitan mindset, he is the man to lead the restaurant of the Kollektive.

Roberto completed his culinary education in classical Japanese cuisine in Tokyo, where he worked for a time before moving on to a 2-star Michelin restaurant in Melbourne and now returning back to Zermatt.

Globe trotter and Chef, Pim Elderhorst and Marián met in Brighton. Classically French trained and with great passion for travelling and exploring different food cultures, Pim Elderhorst decided to move from Amsterdam to London in 2001. He has worked his way up in high-end restaurants like Nobu and 1 Lombard street. After Pim moved to Brighton where he meet Marián for the first time in 2004. He continued to put love for food and sharing forward over the years and develop broad palate and style for harmony at the dining table.

Pim is very excited to be heading up the kitchen production at Aroleid Kollektiv for his old friend and colleague Marián.

HOW TO GET THERE

Our Restaurant can be reached in just a 10-minute gondola ride from Zermatt’s Furi Talstation/Klein Matterhorn Glacier Paradise station in the upper hamlet of Furi. 35minutes Taxi ride from Zermatt with partner Taxi Company Schaller!

It`s also possible for guests to ski in and ski out for a break from conquering the slopes, 51, 52, 53, 56, 58, 60, 61, 62. Premises are also accessible by sledge or on foot.

We are a part of an emerging trend in world-class, cosmopolitan gastronomy: being on top of the world at a premier ski resort does not exclude you from the innovation, excellence and atmosphere that you have come to expect of first-rate establishments elsewhere, whether in London, Tokyo, Copenhagen or New York.
